Under Troy Pickard’s leadership Council has engaged with schools, young people and seniors.

• Held a “Speak Out” Youth Forum and conducted a youth survey
• Launched the Youth Mobile – a bus offering teenagers a safe place to gather
• Created the Platinum 50+ Adventure Program encouraging active participation for seniors
• Adopted a Positive Ageing Plan 2009-11 that values seniors’ contribution in the community
